NPS (Nominal Pipe Size): A dimensionless designation for pipe size in the inch-based system used primarily in North America.
DN (Diameter Nominal): A dimensionless designation for pipe size in the metric system, commonly used internationally.
OD (Outer Diameter): The external diameter of the pipe, measured from outside edge to outside edge.
ID (Inner Diameter): The internal diameter of the pipe, calculated as OD minus twice the wall thickness.
Schedule: Indicates the wall thickness of the pipe. Higher schedule numbers mean thicker walls and smaller internal diameters.
This tool uses official ANSI/ASME B36.10M standards and includes pipe sizes from 1/8" to 48" NPS with accurate wall thickness data for Schedules 10, 40, 80, and 160.
